Job Description:

Hai Hospitality is accepting applications for an experienced Instructional Designer for our Home Office based in Austin, TX. We are an innovative and growing restaurant group, looking for individuals who are creative, ambitious, and passionate about food and people.
 

We're offering a salary of $65,000.00.

Position Summary:

The Instructional Designer works with the Manager of Training and Design, to develop and maintain learning and development programs for all Hai Hospitality brands. This leader will develop learning programs to leverage synchronous and asynchronous blended methodologies to include e-learning, video, ILT, VILT and text-based materials. This position will also support the learning management ecosystem. This position works alongside the Regional Operations Team, Restaurant Management Team, and Home Office to develop next generation learning and development platforms.

Primary Responsibilities:

 Aligns learning and development program design with Hai Hospitality Culture

 Responsible for the organizational learning and development ecosystem

 Designs curriculum for line-level, management and Home Office leaders

 Supports existing and new restaurant opening learning and development programs

 Defines learning objectives based on requirements and using sound instructional design expertise

 Creates engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer

 Partners with subject matter experts to identify target learner’s training needs and develop course content

 Aligns instructional end goals with content creation

 Visualizes instructional graphics, the learner interface and the finished product

 Conducts instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts

 Applies tested instructional design theories, practice and methods

 Provides exercises and activities that enhance the learning process

 Creates supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games)

 Establishes and executes project plans to successfully deliver projects on-time and within budget

 Analyzes, updates, and refines existing content

 Maintains current knowledge and awareness regarding best practices in instructional design

 Participates in new restaurant openings as needed

 Travels to restaurants for implementation and maintaining of training programsLeadership

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required

 Required to work out of the Austin-based Home Office

 Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.)

 Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint required

 Exceptional written and verbal skills

 Accessible to support an operations-centric organization

 Ability to balance speed and quality when designing and delivering learning programs

 Ability to remain flexible and open to feedback

 Ability to work in a high-paced changing environment

 Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) preferred but not required

 Proficiency with design platforms (e.g., InDesign) preferred not required

 Strong attention to detail, including editing and proofreading skills

 Ability to shift priorities based on the current business needs and to make progress on multiple, concurrent projects

 Exceptional project management skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines

• Ability to facilitate written and virtual meetings

 Ability to work on a computer for 5-6 hours a day.
